Set the alarm early for Saturday's wedding of Craig & Danielle.
Loading up the gear and setting off on a drive up to Ireshopeburn where Danielle's parents live.
Roadworks on the A690 caused a little bit of panic as I missed the diversion sign. Never-mind, I as usual had allowed plenty of time.
We had been watching the weather all week, hoping that it would stay fine. It was looking ok as we arrived and the forecast was for rain about 1pm. The ceremony was to take place at St Andrews Church in Westgate at 11-30 so I wasn't unduly bothered.
The heavens opened at about 10-30 with torrential rainfall. After-all it is the UK and we were in Weardale so it was to be expected.
Danielle and her father arrived at the church in style however negotiating the heavy rainfall was a little tricky. The bride looked stunning and was full of smiles while her father carefully ushered her into the church ensuring the gown remained pristine.
The ceremony was amazing Danielle's friend played the violin as the Bride made her entrance. Craig was overwhelmed.
After the ceremony we made our way to Beamish Hall Hotel for wedding breakfast and celebrations.
Not a drop of rain here, (it arrived much later).
Allowing a little time to enjoy the beautiful gardens.
I know this couple had an amazing day.
